For more than 25 years, the Remembrance Tree Ceremony has given the community a chance to remember loved ones during the holiday season. On average, about 300 people gather each year for what has become a beloved family tradition.
Due to COVID-19, we will hold the 2020 Remembrance Tree Ceremony as a live, virtual event on Sunday, December 6, at 2 p.m. via Facebook Live on the Hospice Care Plus Facebook page.*
Anyone who misses a loved one during the holidays is welcome to participate, regardless of whether your loved one was cared for by our hospice.
When you request an ornament, it will be personalized and placed on the Remembrance Tree during the ceremony. We ask that you make a donation to request an ornament, but the donation can be of any size.** As always, the ceremony will include readings, music, and the reading of names. Our staff will place each ornament on the tree as names are read.
All proceeds support the cost of ornaments with any excess funding hospice, palliative, and bereavement care for patients and families, regardless of insurance status or ability to pay.
*You do not need a Facebook account to view the ceremony. If you wish to use comments to type your loved one's name as it is read, or to share a favorite memory, you will need to have a Facebook account.
**Many families' incomes have been adversely affected by COVID-19. If you wish to request an ornament, but making a donation of any size is a barrier for you, please contact us at 859-986-1500 during normal business hours.
Your donation is tax-deductible to the fullest extent of the law.
We appreciate your generous support and your participation in the 2020 Remembrance Tree Ceremony. Please check your email for confirmation of your gift and additional information about the event.
