About the Remembrance Tree Ceremony

For decades, the Remembrance Tree Ceremony has been a chance for the community to remember loved ones during the holiday season. We hope you'll join us on Sunday, December 7, at 2 PM, as we remember those we miss when families gather for the holidays. Anyone who misses a loved one during the holidays is welcome to participate, regardless of whether your loved one was cared for by our hospice.   

As always, the in-person ceremony will include special readings, musical selections performed by local musicians, and the reading of your loved ones’ names. Immediately following the ceremony, we hope you'll join us for a light reception hosted by Hospice Care Plus staff and volunteers.

How To Request Your Memorial Ornament

Please use this donation form to request your memorial ornament. You may request ornaments online through Thursday, December 4. After that date, please contact us by phone at 859-986-1500 to reserve an ornament. Ornaments reserved after the early reservation deadline

When you request an ornament, it will be personalized with your loved one's name. When your loved one’s name is read during the ceremony, you and your family are invited to place the ornament on one of the Remembrance Trees, or a member of our staff will be happy to do so for you.

Please note: any ornaments reserved after Dec. 4 or on the day of the ceremony will have those loved one's names read at the end of the ceremony. 

While there is no charge for your ornament reservation, we do encourage donations of any size*.  All proceeds  raised through this event support our home hospice care, our in-patient hospice care at our Compassionate Care Center and our Grief and Loss Support program for patients and families across Estill, Jackson, Lee, Madison, Owsley, and Rockcastle counties.

Claim Your Memorial Ornament After the Ceremony 

Guests are encouraged to take their memorial ornament home with them after the ceremony on Dec. 7. If you are unable to attend this year's event, stop by our Compassionate Care Center (350 Isaacs Lane, Richmond, KY) Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., and pick up your ornament from the Remembrance Tree, which will be displayed there until the end of the holiday season.  We apologize, but we are unable to ship ornaments.
